Terms of Service

Short version: Timetz is a free tool — use it, don't abuse it, and don't hold us liable for clock-related disasters.

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using timetz.com ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors and users.

2. Description of service

Timetz is a free, browser-based utility for converting times between timezones and cities worldwide. It uses publicly available IANA timezone data and does not require registration or payment. The Service is provided as-is for personal, commercial, and educational use.

3. Permitted use

You may use Timetz to:

  • Convert and compare times across any number of timezones.
  • Plan meetings, calls, and events across geographies.
  • Embed or link to timetz.com from other websites or apps.
  • Access the Service via browser automation or scripting for personal or internal business use.

4. Prohibited use

You may not:

  • Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the Service in a way that degrades performance for other users.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any system, server, or database associated with the Service.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code for commercial redistribution without permission.
  • Use the Service for any purpose that violates applicable law or regulation.
  • Impersonate Timetz or claim any official affiliation with the Service.

5. Accuracy of information

Timetz relies on the IANA timezone database, which is widely regarded as the authoritative source for timezone and DST rules. However, governments can and do change timezone rules with little notice.

The Service is provided for informational convenience only. Timetz makes no warranty that timezone data is current, accurate, or complete for any specific jurisdiction at any specific moment. Do not rely solely on Timetz for legally binding deadlines, flight schedules, medication timing, financial transactions, or any situation where an error could cause harm.

6. Intellectual property

The Timetz name, logo, and original source code are owned by the operator and may not be reproduced or redistributed without written permission. IANA timezone data is in the public domain. Typefaces used (Geist) are licensed under the SIL Open Font License.

Nothing in these Terms restricts your right to use the output of the Service (i.e. the converted times you read on screen) for any purpose.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, TIMETZ AND ITS OPERATOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN ALL CASES, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED USD $10 (TEN US DOLLARS).

9. Third-party links

The Service may contain links to external websites. These links are provided for convenience only. Timetz has no control over and accepts no responsibility for the content or privacy practices of any third-party site.

10. Availability and modifications

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any feature of it) at any time without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any such action. We also reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India.
